They discussed regarding the procedures of issuance of ERC and its subsequent aftermath on increasing indentors and thus play more significant role in economic development of the country. Muhammad Ayub informed that once ERC is issued, indentors are likely to continue their business with more encouragement and also level playing field will be ensured for brining other businessmen to be registered indentors especially those who were used to do business with DPI and are not registered or enlisted anywhere.
It is to be mentioned here that already several amendments have been made in different Clauses, Acts, Paragraphs in the Importers, Exporters and Indentors Registration Order, 1981 with a view to issuance of Export Registration Certificate (ERC) in favor of indentors. Besides, Indenting Service has already been included as Service Export in the Export Policy Order 2015-2018. As per nature of Indenting business, their services are crossing the border of the country as export according to VALUE ADDED TAX ACT, 1991, 2 (lo). So, as service exporter, indentors should get Export Registration Certificate like other Service Exporters in the country.
The Chief Controller of the Office of CCI&E assured that ERC will be issued soon in favor of indentors through a procedure to make the sector vibrant and sustainable.
